This post was inspired from my day-to-day observations of people becoming less aware of others, spending far too much time starring at their phones and seemingly lacking in energy and focus.

Fatigue and ADHD like behavior is on the rise in children and adults. The human body is not suddenly malfunctioning but is responding to our lifestyles and diet. Below are some pragmatic, effective and easily introduced tips to help with concentration and energy levels.

Tips:

1.STOP consuming dairy products all together.
Dairy may contribute to sluggishness. After a break of at least 21 days from dairy you can experiment with organic double cream, grass fed butter and milk from A2 cows if you wish. If this seems like too much of an undertaking, simply cut your dairy volume by half.

2.STOP consuming grains all together.
Take a break from grains (bread, rice, pasta) for at least 21 days and optimally 30 days. If this seems like too much of an undertaking, simply cut your grain volume by half.

Grains, especially the heavily processed cakes and bread will assuredly bring about the 3 F’s: Fat, Fatigued and ultimately Fucked Flabbergasted. After an initial break from grains you can experiment with oats, rice and different types of bread (ezkiel, soda, sourdough) depending on reaction.

3.Consume coffee before midday and preferably before 10.30am.
Coffee has drug like qualities and can have profound positive effects on physiology and psychology if manipulated in the right way by the right person at the right time. The effects of coffee are very much dependent on the individual.

4. Improve posture
Physiology dictates psychology. If you slouch like you are depressed and tired you’ll begin to feel depressed and tired. Sit up, be confident, be aware and look like a vibrant young being and you’ll begin to feel like one. The central nervous system runs through the spine so the more aligned the spine is, the more aligned the CNS is, leading to better strength, learning and electrical activity.

Posture has also been shown to positively influence our acute hormonal profile.

These 4 tips are easy to implement and could make a positive difference to your energy levels, concentration and mood. All you have to do is eat less grains and dairy, sit/stand with better posture and have a cup of coffee if it works for you. Give them a trial and let me know how it goes.

I suggest picking 1-2 of the tips and practice for 1-2 weeks before bringing the other tips in to play.
